Hi there! I’m Antonia, or Missy as everyone calls me, and I’m the founder, owner, and all around cheerleader for Antonia Christianson Events. I’ve been in the event planning business since before I was born, carried around in my mama’s belly. I’m the third generation in the event industry and, because of that, planning events that are centered around family is what drives me every day. Over 20 years ago I started event planning for the corporate world. I worked in radio and as the marketing coordinator for a large regional company, but there was one thing missing- heart. I needed the heart, the family, the emotion- and that’s why I started Antonia Christianson Events. 

We have a saying here at ACE: We focus on the wedding and celebration so our clients can focus on the marriage. We are your cheerleaders- your backup, your go getters, your voice in an industry we know so well so that you don’t have to. And we have built relationships with other vendors in this industry who know that we are committed to providing our clients with the best. We focus on the planning, so you can focus on what really matters- the commitment you are making to each other. 

One of my favorite parts of the wedding day is right before the couple walks back down the aisle. You can feel the joy in the room rapidly rise as the couple seals their marriage with that coveted kiss. And as they turn around and their officiant announces them married- that right there is what this is all about. It’s that penultimate moment where the marriage has happened. The WHY of it all has happened and now the party begins. With each of our wedding clients, we always try to reveal their reception space to them before anyone else gets to go in. This is what we’ve been working for together. We’ve collaborated on design, functionality of the space, where each flower should go and the perfect color of each linen, and now every detail is finally revealed. And it’s such a cathartic moment for us as planners- to see the joy on their faces because we’ve nailed it. We’ve brought their vision to life. There is almost nothing sweeter in the event planning world. 

From Maui to Iceland and everywhere in between, we have seen (and planned!) it all. Our clients become our family. And that’s not just a cliché- we truly care about them and their event like it is for our own family. We’re able to do this because we choose to take on a limited number of clients each year. We want to be committed to your event and it is truly QUALITY of quantity. Your social event, whether it is here in Coastal Virginia or abroad, is safe in our hands. 

When I’m not planning events, you can find me on the sidelines of a football game cheering on my boys in the marching band, traveling with my family, and spending time with my Beloved James, the first and longest ACE employee. Laughing with him and our weekly date nights are fuel for my soul. These three guys are my heart and my home.
